Earlier this year, San Francisco based band Talk Tonight joined forces with Starita to produce their highly anticipated new single “Unresolved” at Different Fur Studios. The single hit iTunes this week and gives a teaser of what is to come from this diverse pop-centric group. Check it out here!
We could talk about all of Trevor Hall’s milestones in the music industry, but Trevor is so much more than that.
Trevor gives so much in his performances and music while valuing personal connections with people and their stories. Even though thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle and the life of the candle will not be shortened, we felt that we should give back by recording Trevor in an environment that would foster his spirit and love for what he does so well . We captured a special moment with Trevor while he performed a song that is dear to him in a meditation hall built in 1904 in Pt. Richmond. We feel honored to have been a part of such a special auspicious moment in time.

The Recording Academy’s San Francisco Chapter was the seventh Chapter to open, spearheaded by a local group of industry professionals in 1974.
One of those professionals was Tom Scott who later became chief engineer at Skywalker Sound and The Plant. Starita cut his teeth with Tom in his early days of moving to San Francisco and is honored to be elected as Vice President of the chapter one of his mentors started.

The Bay Bridged has become recognized nationwide as the leading source for San Francisco Bay Area independent music through their award-winning music blog and podcast series, as well as a series of acclaimed music festival events. Be sure to check out their interview with BAMC Founder, Starita.
Remember when the San Francisco Bay Area was an internationally renowned musical destination? Michael Starita remembers, and he wants to go back to the good old days. But he’s not just pining away for the days of yore; no, he founded the Bay Area Music Collective to do something about it.
The BAMC is all about connecting musicians to Bay Area producers, studios, labels, filmmakers, publicists, and anyone else who can help them make music and get it out into the world. Starita, who is a musician himself, Governor for The Grammys and an audio engineer/producer with a resume that lists Rick Rubin as a former client, plans to restore the Bay Area’s status as a premier hub of the music industry by both bringing out-of-towners in to work with local talent and by helping homegrown musicians get their work out to the masses.

Last week guitar slinger Tyler Bryant ripped through the West Coast with his band The Shakedown in support of his new record “Wild Child”. The 12 song rock n’ roll masterpiece reached #3 on the iTunes charts in the first 2 days of it’s debut and “Say A Prayer” was Single Of The Week. Needless to say, this band is kickin’ ass and takin’ names while blazing their way across the country leaving crowds asking “What just happened?!” The crew teamed up with Starita’s Bay Area Music Collective to track a couple of tunes at San Francisco’s famed Hyde Street Studios while BAMC’s Visual Mastermind Steve Rosenfield captured the magic. The boys all headed up to Sacramento to deliver Harlowe’s one of the best rock shows to date and to participate in Rosenfield’s nationally renowned photo project, What I Be, aimed at helping people find strength in exposing their insecurities.
An idea that started 4 months ago over a meal at La Mar restaurant has culminated into an auditory masterpiece soon to be heard by millions.
Starita has just finished up the 3rd studio effort by Emmett Peixoto and spared no resource to do so. Emmett leads 9 epic tunes that boast Ernest Boom Carter (Bruce Springsteen) and Bobby Hanson (Wooster) holding down the rhythm section with the smooth yet screaming guitar licks of Jeff Hayashi.
The crew tracked basics at Hyde Street Studios‘ famous Studio A and then moved upstairs to Freq Lab Recording that houses the only SSL 9J console in the Bay Area. Starita enlisted the talents of Different Fur studio owner/engineer Patrick Brown to mix a single for a video that’s slated to launch Starita’s newest community-based business Bay Area Music Collective. This single also features Coast Recorders owner/engineer Michael Romanowski putting the final sweetness on the mix with his stellar mastering skills. The launch is set for January 2013 so keep an eye out for one of the largest music movements in the Bay since the 60s!
It doesn’t stop there….The crew flew to LA to work with famous mastering engineer Big Bass Brian Gardner to put the final touches on the rest of the record making this a project touched by many great ears!
Be sure to stop by Emmett’s Bandpage and be the first to get a peek before it’s released!
It’s been years in the making and across the country and back….the New Chris James and The Showdowns album “Lucky Breaks” is finally here! Chris James and Starita started tracking on the record 3 years ago in a small studio in the Haight district of San Francisco with 2 mics and alot of heart. The songs have since traveled to Portland, Maine returning to SF to grace the walls of Faultline Studios, Freq Lab recording and Michael Romanowski Mastering.
The boys are releasing the record with great celebration the night before Thanksgiving, November 21st at Bottom Of The Hill. Be sure to come grab a copy and raise a drink to Rock and Roll!

Respected veteran singer songwriter of the San Francisco music scene Chris James along with his new band The Showdowns, have a reputation for enamoring audiences with rootsy rock n’ roll songs from the heart. The group is also recognized for their energized and compelling live show, which has no shortage of Telecaster twang and swirling B3 organ; recently headlining such San Francisco clubs as Slim’s, The Boom Boom Room, Hotel Utah, Brick and Mortar and others.
This upcoming live performance at Bottom of the Hill will no doubt harness even more energy and excitement than usual as the band can finally, after a year of hard work with some of the Bay Area’s finest engineers and producers at Faultline Studios, Coast Recorders, and Hyde St. Studios, celebrate the launch of their new CD: Lucky Breaks
